For the last couple of weeks, I have been experiencing more "normalcy" in my potty habits. I switched from VSL#3 to Renew Life and upper my fiber intake. Mornings start with oatmeal with apples, pecans and blueberries. Lunch was Chobani yogurt with almonds sprinkled in. Supper usually small portion meat, side item and a small salad. I would feel some bloating issues by evening, but would have a soft formed bm each morning.
Friday, I skipped my yogurt for lunch. Saturday and Sunday I skipped yogurt and oatmeal and had other breakfast food (scrambled eggs or muffin) and big sunday lunch. Yesterday I felt better than I have felt in a year! I was concerned that I would have issues this morning because of the big church style lunch yesterday but just had a normal formed poop this morning.
So my question is...do I cut back all those fibrous foods and just eat normal or do I keep making an effort to eat high fiber foods?
Btw...currently at 15mg Pred and still slowly dropping.

Well if you feel better without it, leave them out or take smaller amounts.
Are you keeping a food journal?

I take psylium fiber each morning for the past year. It seems like it puts me on a "schedule". Also, I'm sure my diet is probably low in fiber intake so, it's probably a good thing to supplement it with additional fiber. Mary

Definitely keep up the fibre supplements. They're not the same as the fibrous foods you're eating. Separate issue. They all serve a purpose, but as i probably mentioned in the past to you and most others.....oatmeal, yogurt...gassss for sure.
If you're craving oatmeal, have it in the evening for a snack, the same with fruits.
An egg, toast and maybe one fruit (I have an orange) in the morning (with fibre supplements) has sustained me 8 hours on occasion.

Soystud...pre-UC normal eating habits were pretty bad. A good deal of fried foods, pizza etc. the most healthy things i would eat were fruit and salads. I am a horrible dessert junkie, but since UC instead of eating store bought
cookies, I tend to eat something that I have made at home. I never ever consciously ate fiber foods until UC. Even my "healthy" oatmeal has a touch of brown sugar in it!
