What Probiotics do you take??

Hey guys! I'm looking to buy some new probiotics. Currently I buy the Target brand and now I want something stronger. So what brand do you take? Also I want to buy the packet form as well. Do they taste good?

Just started BioK+. It is sold here in Canada. Not sure about the US. Can't tell you if they work or not specifically, because we are trying combinations of things, but so far so good.

You need to take very high dose probiotics. Much higher than you can get at Target or other retailers. You need to take about 1000 billion cultures or more per day. Anything else is just a waste of time and money. I am taking VSL and am going to start Renew Life 80 billion per capsule to add to it. Why do you want the satchets? The reason I am adding this particular renew life is that it is not only fairly high dose per capsule but also because the capsules are enteric coated. If the probiotics are not enteric coated a lot of the probiotic could be killed in the stomach. Renew life also has 14 different strands.

I just started taking Renew life 50 billion myself and think they are quality products. They get shipped in a box with a nice ice pack and are enterically coated. I personally think anything other than enterically coated is wasting your money.

I dunno if they are high quality...I use renew life also. I buy them from a specialised shop which have them in a fridge. But loblaws sells THE SAME, but on shelves at room temperature. I don't know if they need to be refrigerated or not but you'd think if they were high quality and expensive they would take care of them right?

You won't find VSL 3 or Natren probiotics on a loblaw's shelf...

i take renew life and vsl. i mix up the two every month so i'm always getting different strains.

somedude, there are some varieties of renew life that don't require refridgeration.

Thanks! I'm going to try Renew. I also was thinking about Flora? As for the packets, that was just something I would put in my water to sip on during the day while also taking pill forms.

VSL#3 1 capsule 2x a day it has been a life changer for me.

You can get it at most pharmacies, just ask for it because they keep it in the fridge.

I went camping last week for the first time in many years.

VSL#3DS is expensive so I take it every other day. I took Mutaflor before it became unavailable in the U.S. I sometimes take S. Boulardii which is a probiotic yeast.

Culturelle seems to be very compatible with my individual body chemistry but I have read posts from others who have problems with it. The label recommends one capsule per day but I take 3-5 a day. It is expensive but I tell myself that it is cheaper than Asacol.

S. Boulardii and Culturelle have different strains than what is found in VSL3 and it think it is a good idea for diversity as long as each is compatible with me.

But avoiding triggering foods is much more important than any probiotics that I take.

I take Ultimate Flora Critical Care 50 billion. They are are not coated, but delay released. I called the company and the rep said they release when they get into your colon and that the stomach acid does not destroy them. I hope she's right! I got them at Walgreens, but you can get them online cheaper. I keep them in the fridge, to be safe. I think they help a bit, and now that I'm flaring, I take 2 a day.

I am going to a new GI tomorrow, and I 'm going to ask him about getting a prescription for the VSL that requires a prescription. VSL is just so expensive. I tried it over the summer and saw no change after a month. Great post, I'll follow it to see what else everyone has to say! Feel better all!! yeah

Started VSL#3 DS for 6 months. Dropped to vSL#3 for couple of months. Switched to Ultimate Flora Critical Care 80 billion a bout 2 months ago due to price. I have had greater success with the Renew Life Ultimate Flora Critical Care 80 than I ever did with VSL products.
