I was thinking about all the progress I made with my illness only after I found Healing Well. I was wondering how people found the message board. I started on Facebook at the UC site and posted some questions. Two people responded, and friended me. One I found out was pancolitisandfightingit on HW. He was a very severe case as I recall. He is no longer on the board, and I remember he was quite combative when he posted, but I'm glad he referred me to HW. It turned everything around for me.

i honestly can't remember. i feel like i've been on here for so long and it's only been since last year! i might have heard someone in this CCFA meetup group mention it but i can't be sure. i only went to a few meetings. i'm just glad i found it.

When I used to google alot of basic ulcerative colitis/crohns disease keywords and questions, HealingWell comes up in first in line, alot.

Googled UC also and found HW. What a lifesaver! You guys have given me healing suggestions, answered questions, and given me a lot of laughs over this past year for which I cannot thank you enough!

Googled "Ulcerative Colitis" was first abused here, decided to stick around, -the abuse was part of the anger of having UC, I was the target, all part of the pathology of UC, still interesting.
I feel my story, full recovery from the brink of surgery is relevant even if most of the "veteran members" choose to dismiss.
I take no offense and find the lashing out very fascinating.

My friend who has CD referred me to HW. I was also on another site..I think called The Patient community..which died and I stayed here (I suggested to a few on that site to come here as well).

I Googled too. I had just got a computer (I was behind in the times) and I desperately wanted to find others who had UC because by that time I already had UC for 13 years and I got tired of being alone in the dark.

I remember when I first joined. There was was hardly any members and over the years it seemed the popularity of HW exploded! Now it is the #1 health support forum. When doing a health search, you are almost guaranteed to find HW first.

This website is one of the most recommended when people use Google. Some of the posts I read here are beyond helpful to the point of being compassionate. I hope those particular posters continue to contribute.

The admin is another reason why this site is so successful. I saw him take a lot of heat in recent years when he tried to prevent overbearing posters, and even some moderators, from trying to dominate and hijack the forum with their own individual views.
