stubborn touch of blood

Ok so my 3month flare has turned a corner about 10 days ago. Urgency is minimal, 1-2 bms a morning mostly formed, much much less visible mucous and blood. I'm still doing 4.8g of Mezavant (mesalamine- oral) each AM and 4g Salofalk enema every night. I just seem to have a little stubborn patch somewhere that continues to bleed. The only blood I see is directly on the stool - i'd say about 5 or 6 inches up. I'm guess it's a little spot that neither med is getting too?
Has anyone experienced this ? any suggestions on how to help heal this last bit. I see my GI again next week and I know if I still have any bleeding he is going to want to scope me and I don't want that...

I can't recall how long i saw a bit of blood while coming out of my other flares.... any advise, ideas?

I say if you are getting better then stay the course. Hopefully it will eventually clear up.

Kind of feels like 3 steps forward , 1 step back.. but I guess the important thing in that equation is there are more forwards than backwards right!

my GI had said to cut down to 3 enema/week as of last week - which I did NOT listen to him... i will do nightly until no more symptoms. Might try doing another one in the AM - although I would go threw supply very fast and insurance wouldn't like that.

Oral steroids didn't work for me last time but I'd be willing to try steroid enema - will bring it up next week with GI - I just really don't want to scope - not while getting better and still fragile!

Just really wanting to get out of this quickly - can't stand the idea of flaring for a year like the past 2 times... Trying to be patient.

Q - stools are pretty good - 1-2 in AM not as formed as before but getting there. No fiber sups. food never seems to have been to much of a factor for me. Probiotics - started a Jamieson blend about 2 months ago - 10 billions active cells, 8 strains. plus a daily danactive. Still not as much as some folks on here but better than nothing.

yes, the common disappointment is that we don't heal quickly...and for many, the rectum takes a while. So, it often feels like one step backwards. But look at the reality from where you were before. I saw my GI a LOT the first 2 years, he said "patience, you're improving". I trusted him on that. Once i did ask if he thought prednisone was a next step. He raised his eyebrows seriously and said "no".

Good you didn't drop the enemas to 3 a week...yet. Hope your doc will give you refills as you need them.
