Before I moved to the rockies I visited on a ski trip and drank from what looked like a crystal clear river with fresh snow capping the rocks and shore.
Later I learned about
Giardia and never did that again.
But I did not come down with UC until after I moved here.
Wow, Mt. Evans in Colorado is right out my window. I used to fly over it on the way to Steamboat for skiing, instead of a windy 4 hour drive I would be there in 30 minutes after taking off from Boulder field. I think I am confusing it with Longs peak, they are both due west of here but Evans is along I-70 to Vail.
That creek I drank from is actually closer to Mt Evans then because it was near keystone and a-basin.
