Link? Diflucan - UC - Yeast infection?

I was just diagnosed this morning with UC after about 2 months of chronic d. At first I was convinced this was all due to me taking a single dose of Diflucan for a yeast infection. My symptoms started right away and never let up after that.

My theory was that I had some sort of fungal overgrowth since this was the first yeast infection I ever had in my life (30 years old). By lowering fat in my diet and eating plain greek yogurt twice a day I was able to get solid bms a few times. I have also been off all sugars for about 3 weeks. Now I am just confused since it seems to be UC, not yeast. Or can it be both?

I read on here that some people said they got better with Diflucan? Is it possible since I took such a small dose that the fungus fought back and cause this flare-up?

Thanks ahead of time for reading this! Very new to all of this and hoping to get a few things figured out.

I used to always think yeast was linked to my UC but after trying a candida diet and the SCD diet and having no improvement in my condition, I gave up on that theory. I have used diflucan since being diagnosed with UC without having any impact on my UC. It did correct the yeast which was great. I think we all have some ideas of what might be the "culprit" for us based on the timing we developed this awful illness but I think in my case, my culprits were probably just coincidence. I have heard it stated that everyone has a trigger and maybe the yeast triggered your UC or maybe the diflucan did.
