Mine were in the range of 4 to 6mm. One was right in the tube and another was in the kidney. I agree, worst pain ever. First time I went to ER, the guy gave some med to 'open up' the tube and the stone will pass. Forgot the name now. Nothing happened. 4 months on, same pain again. This time they removed by surgery and the one in the kidney was removed by lithotripsy. I will talk to my PCP about it.

As I said in OP, there was no reference so I found it weird too but it is not completely snake oil. UC does change pHs of our intestines to certain extent and that is the reason why we are prone to kidney stones (read above discussion). I knew it and my urologist confirmed it. How much that stuff is connected to UC itself i.e. acidic or alkaline food, is lot different discussion. More research is needed there.
