I have be using it instead of the psyllium I used to take. I like the effects of carob power better than psyllium. It seems to regulate my system (make things come out smoothly) with out the laxitive type effect of psyllium that increases frequency. Just so you know, I am almost always battling loose stools. I would say that if you get constipated you may not want to take the carob powder. Right now I am taking two tablespoons per day. I take them in a green drink I make from blended, fresh, organic, veggies.
Give it a try. Cant hurt.
