We go to Disney every year, (coming down from northern CAnada). Every time we do, my movements are more solid then ever and blood is nowhere to be found.
Think it could be from the Adrenal Glands being stimulated from the Rides (as well as the Sunshine!)? Prednisone basically focuses on Adrenal gland production as it's target so I am thinking this type of activity - the Rides etc- is like a natural prednisone.
Anyone else notice that? We have been doing this for 7 years so I have a decent history to notice this.
Perhaps I should enroll in a MMA type class to get that Adrenal going more frequently..

I have tried rides on two different occasions in an attempt to improve my symptoms but never noticed any change.
Are you eating exactly like you would be in Canada? Specifically, has anything been added or eliminated from what you would normally eat?

My doc told me if you go on vacation and your UC symptoms disappear look at your enviromental surroundings i.e. farms, petrolume, stuff like that. Just a thought because sometimes uc can be caused by enviromental issues right?

environment make sense. also look at routines and eating patterns. also is social interaction with family different on vacation? ... all of these areas seem more likely than rides, but yo could always try skydiving and report back.

or the fact you went from Canada to Florida, were you out in the sun all day?
Interesting quick google search and there is a connection between sunlight and adrenals.

I generally would eat way worse on vacation then at home - fast food, snack food, high fat food etc. At home I eat Quinoa, Greek Yoghurt etc... darn, maybe my body is designed for happy meals?
Coincidentally, I do very well at XMAS and Thanksgiving when I stuff my self.
The Environment factor is certainly better at home then on Vacation. Much cleaner air and water where I live w/o question.
The Low Stress factor on vacation probably plays a massive role, as well as the sunshine.

i had a similiar experience on vacation this summer. we went to ocean city nj for the week, and i had the best week uc wise ever. i didnt eat as healthy as i normally would. i ate typical boardwwalk food i woulnt normally eat, like pizza and water ice. i have no idea why i did so well that week, i was thinking maybe less stress since no work, plus i as sleeping more/longer/later than usual. i sometims do better on te eekends and i always think its because i get more sleep, or sleep later....

So what is this getting the adrenals going about
?
Are 'our' adrenals not working like they should when we have UC, or just when on prednisone?

Adrenals are suppresed on the prednisone. Your body says no point in making corticosteroids youve got enough!
Also im assuming where you are in Canada its higher elevation(im by the Rockies) and less oxygen. Body just has to work less in Florida. Also the no work no stress idea makes sense.
