Blood after having sex

Hi everyone, want to know whether anyone else has similar experience

I got ulcerative protitis from 2008 and I thought I am in remission by using mesalamine enema twice/week.
I have one bowl movement a day and don't have any urgency.

The problem is that I found blood after having sex with my girlfriend several times recently.
Generally, the next day after sex, I would see blood on paper tower although the stool is still formed.
Without sex, everything is fine.

Did anyone experience the similar thing? Could the blood from haemorrhoids?

It could be the hormonal rush from the intercourse. Does it happen EVERY time after intercourse? Do you see blood any other times?

uh-oh Big panda.....no sex for you!!! just kidding, I agree with Max, probably the hormonal rush. hormones play a big part in this disease in my opinion.

I don't know how active you are in your regular life but it could be the sexual activity is moving your inner parts enough that it is causing enough irriation to start bleeding.

Huh? Hormonal rush of blood? Did I miss something in health 101? Could you guys explain that to me? With or without UC does that normally happen as you age?

Do you have any problems with the suppositories BigPanda? Or do you feel like they are working well?

I read "hormonal rush" which would be hormones released into bloodstream, not "hormonal rush of blood", which does not even make sense.

Hormones are powerful, but the amount released by one night of sex, should not have that quick and that profound an effect on friability of the colon tissue. on the other hand they are endorphins, and the whole idea of LDN is to modify the body's receptivity to endorphins.

still, I think some physical reason, related to muscle contractions, body movements, prostate response ... might make more sense. I think Gary is looking in the right direction.
