Removal of of dreaded hemmies

Has anyone had their hemmies removed? Was it painful? What procedure did you have??? Just curious. They are a pain in my you know what! Would love to be done with these. One less thing to worry about. Thanks Faith:)

There is a new process called THD that's suppose to be a lot less invasive.

I asked my GI about it and although he's always been opposed to hem surgery because of the risk of bleeding, he said "yes" to this procedure and even recommended a surgeon.
I did have the hems banded twice but it was only a temporary fix.

I'm going to see about THD because I'm now having more of a problem with the hems that with the UC.

Interesting, going to call GI on Monday . I guess a proctologist would perform this type of procedure???

The doctor my GI recommended is a colorectal surgeon.

Get them banded is suppose to be the safest way to remove them (they shrink up on their own over some time after getting them banded) that's what they told me 22ish yrs ago, little did we know that mine were actually perianal crohn's skin tags and not hemmies (wow, was that ever a life-altering blunder).

I guess it depends on the severity of the hemmies.
Banding was only a temporary solution for me.
Had to go back 2 years later for repeat.

The surgeon told me to expect that result.

Hi Faith,

I had a lump where my fissure was and he removed that but didn't tackel my hemmie on the right side. I don't remember it being bad except the first night and I was on drugs so it helped a lot, but maybe they gave me meds when the put me under to forget, but it easy for me.

I've had infrared and banding, didn't work with my gut spasm.

I heard it was THE WORST experience in teh world for weeks! I was told NOT to do it.
