Prednisone: When will my period come back? +I do 't want to be chubby...

So I've been on Prednisone for while now, like since mid June '12. I started off at 50mg and I taper down 5mg every month, so now it's at about 25mg. I was wondering (if anyone has the same problem) when will my periods come back? I know that's not such a big deal, in fact my friends think I'm quite lucky not to recieve mother nature's gift so often. But every month before I visit my doctor, I take a blood sample as well as a urine sample. They told me the urine sample was to check if I was pregnant or not... I guess they're just taking precautions but is it normal to not have your period?
Also, my weight gain. It's seriously been so hard for me to keep it off. People tell me to eat lots of fruits and vegetables but that doesn't seem to work either! Sometimes I would eat half an apple and I'd gain maybe about half a pound. I don't think that's supposed to happen. When will I start seeing my weight gain go down? I'm tired of all my friends calling me Chubby Bunny, even though it is a little cute.

I skipped my period for three months during the worst of my flare but that was not from pred or any meds (I was never on prednisone). When I started to go into remission is when my period started again.

I am sorry to say but I think the best way to lose the weight is to get off prednisone. I know you have to taper and getting healthy is the top priority right now but I feel like it's almost impossible to lose weight while on prednisone. What you can do is, make sure you're not letting your appetite control your eating. Eat only what you ate prior to being on prednisone, no more! When I was on pred, I ate constantly, I was always hungry. Secondly, Keep active. Work out or walk, exercise... I think I got my period regularly while I was on prednisone. It would have been nice to get a break from it but I can see how you would worry when you're not getting it.
