Feeling like crap on Humira but they tell me keep taking it-help from those on humira please

Happy New Year!! May we all be blessed with better health!

I had a fever three nights ago of 100, feel like I'm getting a sinus infection and then it goes away after I sweat it out, I just feel like crap and achy like the flu but no stomach upset really. I explained all this to my nurse she said my body is adjusting to it, stick with it. Tomorrow I'm suppose to give myself two shots. I said I want to quit, she said don't it will help. I can also take asacol with it she said because I'm really bad right now. Who's taking 5-ASA with their Humira?

She said if I don't have a fever right now, take the shots it will take months for it works possibly. I have such lack of gumption! I didn't get out of my sweats for two days!

I'm in a pickle, I need to follow through I suppose. Any thoughts?

Oh no. I was so hoping this would work for you.

I think everyone is different, but I stopped taking Humira after a few months. I felt absolutely awful every day - no energy, feverish, withdrawn, anxious, weird muscle and joint pains, and a terrible, ongoing yeast infection that would not disappear no matter what I did. I've been off it now for over a month and am steadily feeling better and better.

I'm learning that immune suppressing drugs don't seem to help me in the long run - they actually tend to make things worse. It was scary to go off it since I'm running out of tools (have antibodies to Remicade, Imuran makes me violently ill, and 5-ASAs don't really help much), but I figured if a drug is making me that sick it's not really a *tool* at all. I've also made my peace with the possibility of surgery in the future - I've suffered long enough (12 years).

Good luck to you in figuring all this out. A very strict, paleo-like diet combined with a healthy lifestyle is what seems to keep me in remission. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you start to feel better!

Right now I feel great! Go figure! I wish it last to the tonight because I want to see the tiny ball drop in our town and I'm feeling the pressure from my BF to do something. He understand, but then he doesn't completely. He's 12 yrs younger than me and I feel like sometimes, dude go be with someone your own age, I've done so much in the 12 years were aged apart you need to go live and party it up.  

Anyways the wave of sickness  comes and goes during the day. I will keep it up for a while and see how I do. I've been a quitter of medication and I want to follow through on something. My best stability and follow through, is my job, I got that mastered, everything else is always up in the air in my life.

Here's my two cents. I felt the same at the beginining. Thought I had a sore throat, then later that day I didn't. Thought I was coming down with a cold . Woke up the next morning , I was fine. Crazy stuff like that. My Mother used to say This too shall pass. It goes away, take it from me. Taking the Humira since June. The body seems to adjust. I feel pretty good right now. Just the hemmie business!!! That seems better too. My GI said cont with all meds while on Humira. I did!!!!! I now take the oral but not rectals everyday. What your feeling is normal. Be patient:)
