I have tried not to say too much on these threads for a while. I still have not decided if the surgery is a good thing or not. There are a lot of ups and down in recovery. A friend told me it took her two years after her reversal before she really had a handle on diet, infections, and meds. Other people seem to be fine after two months. It has been seven months and I rarely leave the house. In September, I started training for a half marathon. I was hoping completing the marathon would be a celebration of reclaiming my body and life. Instead, I ended up with irritable pouch syndrome and doctors who do not seem to be following up on anything. My vitamin D3 level dropped to less than 4 but my doctor behaved as if it was ok. This was why my muscles hurt so much and I ended up bed-bound. I completed the half-marathon but it was torture. The earliest appointments I could get for the IPS and Vitamin D deficiency is Jan. 28.
If you can get out at all, be glad because some of us can't.
