i finally figured out why it's been taking me forever to get humira (started the process 12/10). apparently, i have two accounts with the walgreens pharmacy. i knew something weird was going on when i spoke with them on the phone last week. the rep asked me if i had dealt with them before and i told them yes, when i was on remicade. she said that wasn't in my file and i told her it should be since i had 5 infusions. well, she said not to worry about it. this week on the phone, i mentioned that i had been denied for the humira insurance and the lady said she'd get back to me as of why.
so this is what's been happening. when i first started with walgreens pharmacy in aug 2011 for my remicade, they had been been spelling my name "joanne schupp." i had corrected them repeatedly but i guess they never changed it. when insurance sent out my approval for humira to the pharmacy, a new account was created with "joanna schupp." well, for the past month, each time i'd be on the phone with them, some information would go into the "joanne" account and half the info would go into the "joanna" account. i always wondered why i kept repeating all the same info on the phone ALL the time but i figured they were just airheads and disorganized. turns out, my $5 copay was denied for "joanne" because that person doesn't exist but it was approved for "joanna." also, all my walgreens and humira mail has been going to my dad's house where i have never lived. i have told them my address i don't know how many times and my dad and i don't talk often so i never know what comes in the mail.
anyway, my mom called and straightened everything out so i should HOPEFULLY get my pens today at MY address. if not, then, i give up.
