Yeah, now that I'm doing this program, and drinking the water/celtic salt daily (half my body weight in ounces), I'm reflecting back on my life before colitis. This program is making me really think about
how I got this. You see, it's not one thing that brought it on. It was a few things that basically created a perfect storm which led to ulcerative colitis.
Again, I'll start a new thread on this once I'm further into the program. But today marks 5 days of amazing experiences in the bathroom. No meds at all! Just 2-3 weeks ago, I was walking around like an old man - I felt malnourished and literally like I was dying. I was crying tears of joy the other day after going to the bathroom (sorry to get graphic...we've all heard everything...8-10 incher / 1 inch around...no mucous, no blood). On the 3rd day of this I broke down in tears of joy!
Reflecting back, I remember my parents calling me "the carbo kid"...no joke!!! I refused to eat fruits and veggies and basically lived on starch and meat. I also remember going number 2 every 2-3, sometimes 4 days. I thought this was b/c I had a fast metabolism. Reality is, I wasn't getting any fiber. And my colon most likely wasn't in the best shape as a result. And if you have enough of those dry/large moments, it can actually pull away the lining of your colon (the mucosal lining that protects your skin from acid). Also, the processed "food" I was eating apparently blocked up my villi in the small intestine. So, I had a hard time assimilating the food (which is watery and full of digestive enzymes/acid when it goes into the small intestine). The good bacteria can't thrive, you get an in-balance. Now throw being dehydrated on top of all of this, and it's not a good recipe. Throw in stress, even more insulting. The cleanse is removing the damage so I can assimilate properly, and the herbs, enzymes, minerals, vitamins are repairing the damage. Diet is a huge part of it as well. Any one of these things being changed will not solve the problem...I've discovered through Russell that you need to address everything. And you know what? It's not that difficult to do at all!!!
Some have good luck with Fecal Transplants, but if the other areas aren't addressed this is more of a temporary fix, and is most likely why many don't do well. Get the system clean so it can work, give it what it needs to heal itself and you'll be amazed!
Have you tried everything? Do you really want to change this thing? Then go buy Russell Mariani's book...I'm telling you, it's changing my life! I have energy, hope...I'm dancing around the house. My six year old is doing a "daddy's belly is better dance"...It's incredible! I've gone into remission before really not knowing why, and I always had the weight of this on me. Not today...I know that I can heal myself and it's incredibly powerful!

tennisball, I hear you onthe water. A lot of us are chronically dehydrated and that makes it impossible to wash toxins and pathogens out of your system.
This is why I believe more in higher volume water enemas then the prescription enemas long term for myself.
Once you get everything flowing right all the pathways like lymph, blood, kidneys, liver.. can do their job and try to fight whatever is effecting your body. Those paths can do nothing if you just leave your body festering in the same cesspool adding chemicals trying to fix it.
There are alot of sillier things then water to try :)
