Roaccutane

Would using this kill off good bacteria. I'm trying to narrow down the cause of my proc***. Not long after finishing Roaccutane I also quit smoking. I also ate and drank a lot of foods with artificial sweetener. I remember the closet to finding out I had proc*** I had eaten a bag of suger free Lollies at work. I got severe cramps that made it painful to stand. I done this twice before realising. I also ate a lot of suger free gum. To much would have a similar affect. Only recently (months) I've stop drinking and eating sugar free. I dont drink anything ever but water.

Roaccutane is a generic brand of accutane. I know it has but in the same way antibiotics do? By wiping gut flora?

Actually, recent studies have stated that there is a high correlation between users that use Accutane and users that took tetracycline antibiotics for acne...so many speculate that its the antibiotics not the accutane that can lead to UC.

I did not take tetracycline but did take accutane. Developed UC right after that.

I could not join the litigation because docs can destroy medical records after 10 years and I had no proof I took it.

I took Bactrim DS for 3 years, stopped, then developed UC. No evidence that UC is caused by Bactrim but stomach aches, diarrhea and even pseudomembranous colitis (sp?) are listed on their website. Coincidentally (or not) I tested positive to c.diff when my UC developed. Hence I think my UC is largely gut flora related.

After I got UC my dermatologist had the cheek to recommend me try accutane for acne... good thing I knew accutane was linked to UC by then.

Oh and talking about artificial sweetners, pre-UC I used to body build and half my diet was protein shakes and weight gaining powder (all containing aspartame). I used to chug that stuff down and get diarrhea from it but I didn't care... until the blood.

I took tetracycline but it was 30 years before UC came on.
