Why my methods have not worked recently - I have Giardia

When my supply of Mebeverine ran out I knew it would take time for it to arrive from outside the U.S. So before eating lots of immodium and pepto bismal tablets I requested stool samples to get the green light.

I have never had them find anything in my stool samples - until now. Funny because I told friends if I flare and croak after my homeless ex-wife moves back in temporarily be sure to check for poisoning because I got UC at an odd age and always suspected her since she was cooking for me when I was diagnosed. That along with something she told me and something she told my daughter makes we wonder again.

So I have 3 5 gallon jugs and I source all my water at Vitamin Cottage or bottled water and also the Cottage had no other complaints. I wonder where I got Giardia since I have been busting my tail commuting downtown to get my 2 annual bonus checks that were paid out this week. I have not been hiking in the nearby Rockies and drinking from streams. I have not been gardening and I adequately cook my food.

Regardless of how I got this it does explain why all my recent efforts failed and I wound up on prednisone.

I hear the new medication will make me feel pretty lousy on top of how I have already been feeling. Ever forward I need to be better by week 2 of February because the company is sending me to 3 days of training at a mammoth vendor convention.

So far the prednisone has been good, makes me a bit too gung ho at high dose but I backed off one approach by listening to people who have built this system over 5 years and went in another direction and tuned it 20,000 percent which will save us an enormous amount of money. This time I am weightlifting right thru the pred but only by taking 5-10 mg at a time continuously throughout the day. Hopefully this new medication does not wreck how well things are going.

Perhaps some folks who have take it can tell me about their experience.

Wow, thats a load off your shoulders then to know that something is there thats preventing you from being your best. What is the medication, antibiotic they use help get rid Giardia?

On the plus side, Mammoth is WAY COOL! I'm very jealous and I'd like to be a stowaway that weekend!

Mammoth would be cool! I used to throw backflips skiing and really enjoyed watching the x-games live last week in my great room with giant new t.v. Until Caleb Moore crashed and now he has died. Too bad, I really felt that electric excitement I used to get doing backflips but these guys are so much braver doing it on snowmobiles - wow. I live near Boulder Colorado but have little time to ski at this point in my life. My daughter is still getting over taking her down Vails frontside, maybe in another year.

I am just going to the worlds largest database vendor annual training by world famous book authors and it is a good networking opportunity. I am excited to go as I am usually too busy to think about it. Going to pick the right classes and learn a lot.

Hi Sue,

Yes I have taken one pill and given a stern warning 'not a drop of alcohol'. I no longer drink but good to know as sometimes I get confused and quickly realize booze is not for me.

Thanks Quincy. I slept so deep, I was hanging out with people surfing in Hawaii in one of many great dream sequences. I took 10 mg of Prednisone at 1:00 AM and continued sleeping like a baby. I think I will be feeling a lot better. It is 5:48 AM and I do not wish to sleep any more.
