I've been trying to put the peices of the puzzle together for the past few nights.
When I was about
13-14 years old, I was hit with reoccurring acid reflux. At that age, I was a complete fool, and only ate what I wanted to. My mom found Prilosec (a proton pump inhibitor) which solved my problems completely. I was never hit with acid reflux EVER again.
When I was 18, I had a lot of teen-age emotions I feel I can attribute to IBS (lots of diarrhea/stool), no blood at this age. When I started smoking to dull emotional pain, all symptoms went away. Flash forward to 2011 when I stopped smoking. I started noticing symptoms of UC, then following diagnosis.

Conclusion:
Prilosec (proton pump inhibitor) can cause less gastric acid production. Say hydrochloric acid for example. This acid is used to digest proteins, and if not functioning properly can lead to Hypochlorhydra.
drweyrich.weyrich.com/disorders/hypochlorhydria.htmlI've had all of those symptoms since I was in my late teens.
Once this happens, it apparently can lead to auto-immune diseases and other issues.
My metametrix lab test showed yeast/parasite and h.pylori and very low Elastase 1 (which is an important pancreatic enzyme that breaks down protein).

Please question, correct me where I am wrong, and discuss! Thanks
