Squatting on Western toilets

Subject says it all. Anyone figured out how this can be achieved?

Google isn't very helpful, so far.

(P.S. - I am not looking for the stool option that was posted here a while ago)

I've found that leaning forward, bringing my heels up to side of the toilet, and resting on tip toes approximates squatting.  I can't imagine trying to stand on the toilet and wouldn't want one of those platforms in my bathroom, either.

I've done this for a couple of years now when possible. I just take my shoes off and sit on the toilet with the sit down. My left foot where a normal person would put their left cheek and right foot where the right cheek goes. ;)

I don't mind paying for the aids like Squatty potty but the their prices are outrageous. Hence, I am looking for some DIY alternatives. Instead of Squatty Potty, I am considering buying 2 stools from Ikea and they should nearly do the same job. Pathogenkiller's bucket idea is good too but I twisted my ankle badly last year and it still gives me tough time (i.e. perfect squatting will be very difficult for a while).

I am an Indian. I grew up using the type of toilet you describe. I can confirm that squatting really gets everything out and feels quite 'empty'. You use the facility only once if you squat but about 3X if you use western style. As and when I go to India, I use 'hole' kind of facility. My parents have both kind of toilets, since my mom has a knee problem, she uses western style. In the past, they used to sell chairs with hole for seniors or knee impaired folks.
For those who wonder, how you wash it. You clean with water using left hand (of course, you wash your hands after that). Nowadays, there are spray like taps to do the same job.

And you can not 'lose' child in a hole that is about 5 inches wide..

Seriously folks, you got to use it for a while to learn how good that system is..

definately activating quads and being more natural helps, sitting causes the rectum to want to start to come out too and makes it 1) More inflamed 2) Prolongs the not-done still-not-empty feeling.

Easing down for a mix now weeks into pred.

I keep cocoa butter oil and was laying down a quick film, makes cleanup easy and no irritiation after 20+ times a day.

Pseed-Powder and a tad husk blend several times per day pulls it all together really well if you can manage to down that stuff. Lemon flavored cod live oil seems to dominate the 'dirt' taste that the whey powder cannot overcome.

Maybe you need one of these toilets?
