Does anyone else get this? I feel like ever since I got sick I feel like I'm getting a yeast infection as though my downstairs is inflamed. It's really uncomfortable :( is that associated with uc? I feel like I have to pee a million times a day but it comes and goes. And it looks normal down there. Anyone else?

yeast infections for me are always insanely itchy. Maybe you have a bladder infection? That can happen if you are having a lot of diarrhea.

It seems like it happens when I eat sugar. I swear. Ill start getting a burning sensation and have to pee a million times. It lasts like 30 min or so :(. It seems like my body is ultra sensitive since UC

I had to pee a lot while on pred. Don't remember if I was feeling inflamed or yeasty.
So are you feeling the burning on the labia or in the urethra?

Talk to your doctor and definitely get tested for a UTI!

I've had that too but I don't think it's related to UC. I treated a yeast infection a while back and since, I've been 100% fine. I used boric acid. I had used diflucan and OTC stuff before without luck. I am so thankful things have gone back to normal, what a terrible feeling. I think my problems stemmed from being on pred and taking a course of cipro/flagyl. Definitely see your doctor and get check for yeast, BV and UTI.

It doesn't sound like BV if it's related to having increased urination, but I definitely have very bad vaginal inflammation when I have UC flares. I think it's a combination of increased inflammation in general, and the proximity of the inflammation to other mucosal tissue. I hate it :( I've been flaring for the majority of my relationship with my partner, and it means pretty much no sex ever.

Chrissy, you need to call your OBGYN because if you do have a UTI or BV, you need to get it treated right away. It's not safe to have either while you're pregnant. You shoudn't have to even see the OBGYN -- when I thought I had a UTI back in the second trimester, they just had me go to the lab and submit the urine sample, then called an RX in when the test came back positive.

However, it's common to pee more than normal in the first trimester due to all that fun hormone stuff. ;)

Sounds like a UTI. Go to the doctor. Its easily fixed.

Absolutely get to a doc and get checked for whatever it could be...

You're pregnant...that trumps everything.

Yeah I will get it checked if it continues. It's been like 3 episodes in the past 2 weeks so not sure if it is one.

Oh yes pregnancy sucks so far lol but I already am so up and down I'm dreading the hormones lol

When i was on pred i was constantly getting yeast infections 'there'. Even on 5mg. It felt like i was always on canesten it was ridiculous. Also, make sure if you go on canesten (antifungal) course you do the 7 day course with vaginal pessaries AND that your partner goes on a 7 days course of the cream as well. For a long time after coming off the pred i kept getting re-infected and it turned out DH had it, he had no symptoms except minor itching.
