How long for cortenemas to work?

I just started cortenemas 5 days ago. From the previous posts I read on here they sounded like they would produce miraculous results very quickly. While I have seen some improvement over the last few days, today I felt like I took a step backwards symptom-wise. I really need these to work for me b/c nothing else is touching this current flare...

Can anyone share their experience with how long it took their symptoms to resolve on steroid enemas?

it should take as long as it takes...unfortunately.

You improved quite a bit?

Much has to do with the degree of inflammation.

If you have left-sided UC, I'm assuming it goes past the sigmoid? You should be on an oral 5ASA anyway.

For me, the longer I've left the proctitis before treating it, the longer it would take for rectal meds (my preference being cortifoam) to kick in.

The first time I used them I was in remission within a week. The second time I tried them my inflammation was too high up (im guessing) and they helped me a little but did not get me into remission so I went on pred. They should not take longer than three weeks to get you feeling better per my doctor.
