Well....this is it. I am having surgery on Wednesday. Procotcolectomy with end ileostomy. Of course I have all sorts of mixed emotions surrounding my decision and have gone through the whole spectrum of thinking about
things as I made this choice. Right now I'm mostly concerned about
undergoing surgery in the very poor state of health I'm in now...but better now than before I get even sicker, I guess...if that's even possible.
Anyway....all that's left to do now is tying up loose ends at home, pre op evaluation with anesthesiology tomorrow and trying not to stress and worry too much as the time draws near. Oh...and I REALLY hope I can luck into getting a private room at the hospital! :)

YAY! You will be healthy soon! DO NOT think of it as waving a white flag though, you are not giving up. You are taking your life back. And while the surgery will hurt and it won't be a fun recovery, in a few months you will be out and about
living life and not tied to a toilet and dangerous meds.
Good luck!

Good luck!! Looking forward to your update as I am close behind you & am also choosing for an ileosotomy instead of pouch.

Thanks for all the well wishes and kind words!! I have so much to do today and am kinda nervous about
a few things, but am also very ready for tomorrow to get here.
@Red... I am actually just sticking with the end ileostomy. I am so sick that the JPouch would be 3 surgeries, which was very daunting to me for many reasons. After weighing pros and cons of many different aspects, I decided I was more comfortable with the ileostomy in many ways and really think I will be able to handle it well. I'm just ready to be done with all of this and healthy again!
