So I had my Sigmoid today….craziest thing I ever heard. Before he started he said he’s (at this point) labeling “non-specified” Colitis, that it may be Crohns/Colitis? When I was done, he said there was no Colitis visible, very little inflammation. And that I’m extremely constipated (he said lbs. up there) – I have to take a laxative later today – I asked how can that be if I’m going 5-7 times a day….he’s not sure. He thinks maybe I did have c-diff, and the antibiotics are helping. Wants to keep me on all my meds (tapering pred. starting Friday), and I have to see him again next Wednesday. Ended with him saying "your medical summary isn't finished, I promise we'll get some answers"... Does this mean I had UC and it's gone? am I in remission? Has anyone ever had this happen? I still have pain, urgency and 5-7 bathroom visits a day.

where exactly is the inflammation? in the rectum?
and he said you have pounds of stool in your colon?
didn't you do a clean-out before the s-scope?

the little bit is in the colon? and no - he didn't want me to do prep - he said since I'm going so often and eating so little, he didn't want to irratate me further and that it wasn't necessary.

I don't think you have enough definitive evidence to know whether it's even UC. It sounds like it may just be colitis, colitis can happen to anyone. My dog had a bout of colitis from a parasite and after antibiotics, he was 100%. Did he take biopsies? Those can provide the clues you need to figure out whether you have a diagnosis or just a temporary condition. I truly hope you don't have UC and it's curable colitis caused by a GI Bug. I have seen a lot of people bounce around diagnoses before getting an accurate answer. I have also seen some folks who have been diagnosed for years and then found out they were misdiagnosed. Try to take your time and get the answers you need. It doesn't sound like remission, 5-7 times a day with urgency is not normal. I am in remission and I go once a day, formed, no urgency or cramping.

I don't think anyone could vote for anything right now.

I sure hope he did take biopsies.
Good to ask where exactly the inflammation is...if not in the rectum, then doubtful it's UC.
Hope you get answers.

On February 18 I had a non-sedated sigmoid (was bleeding and going D about
12-15 a day) and he said without a doubt UC....??

ok, so that would mean the rectum was inflamed and to the point of bleeding.
have you not had a c-scope? I'd suggest you make an appointment to have that done eventually....with biopsies.
Visually....other things can mimic UC...
so...did he take biopsies?

He did take biopsies, and funny enough - I had a colonoscopy on December 6 - they took out 3 polyps, he took another 2 today....rectum was inflamed and I took Canasa and Hydrocort. supp. for a month.

What was stated in the biopsy reports from both dates? Were they consistent?
