Thank you, Lodi 😀
Like I said, I have nothing to lose, and with the shock of my diagnosis, I'm thinking something extreme needs to be done. Obviously, I'm hoping it works. I guess we'll see

hey ellie.
I hope your new juicing plan helps you get out of this flare. it's tough when the meds you are on make you worse. that has happened to me more times than I can count. it's true that you know your body better than any doctor and if you feel something is off, then it is.
as for iron, I know conquer UC mentioned the Spatone iron. this really is the gentlest and most easily absorbed iron you can take. as a woman, we need to eat approximately 14 grams of iron a day because we only end up absorbing a small amount- 1.5 mg to 2 mg. most supplements have too much iron in them (50 mg) and your body can't absorb most of it. this brand comes in 5 mg packets and the absorption rate is 2 grams. I take this iron in the morning and then 1 tbsp. blackstrap molasses at night. I just started this combo on Monday and haven't had any bleeding since then. it's kind of a miracle for me.

That's awesome! I'll look into the iron, thank you. My iron level was 2 points above the minimum range, so I don't know why she even put me on it. The water sounds like a good idea though.
Congratulations on the good news!!!!! That is so awesome. I've run across a few things about
the blackstrap molasses and was contemplating it myself. Did you order it online? Or is it easy accessible at a health food store?

ellie, I found the molasses at a health food store. the brand is plantation. I looked at the regular grocery store and the brands there didn't have a good amount of iron in them. get one with at least 15% to 20% iron in it.
another thing you could try if you're
open to it is liver capsules. it's basically dehydrated liver and it's way easier to take than actually eating liver. it is a super concentrated source of iron, too.
i'm always researching natural ways to do anything so I get where you are coming from.
