I've been on and off it several times. At first it seems like it helps some, but that is always followed by an assessment that it must not be doing anything. Slippery elm is like a double edged sword. It coats your insides but in order to keep your insides coated 24/7 you have to take it several times per day and doing that decreases the absorption of other meds you are taking, which is not good. The only way around it is to not have your insides coated 24/7 and then take the meds you need to take during the times your insides are not coated. I believe slippery elm is best for those that do not rely on other meds and then these people can take the slippery elm on a regular basis to continually keep your insides coated but even then it also interferes somewhat with the apsorbtion of foods.
