itchy skin?

weird thing the past three days ... lots of itchiness, starting at around 6 pm until I go to bed.

There's no obvious trigger. Hadn't eaten anything for > 8 hours and was driving home from the grocery store after work the first time it happened.

Noticed non-red largish bumps that resembled mosquito bites, and after itching for a while, little pinpoint red dots that look like hives or something. But both are gone in the morning. The itchiness has literally gone from head (one eyelid) to foot (top of foot), but probably worst on stomach/chest.

Could this be UC or mesalamine related?

I have this everyday. Been happening for years now.

The mesalamine isn't recent. I've been on Lialda for probably 5-6 mo, at first with Canasa, but then just Lialda alone for a few months. I recently added Canasa back in since the blood is back.

Is it typical with hives to have itching only in the evening? That's the part that seems weird.

Nope, no new soaps, skin care products, or cleaning products. No tanning bed use or new clothes. No obvious environmental exposures to which I could attribute it.

I have an appointment for blood work next week. This will be the first time they've done blood work since I started the mesalamine. I've had so many vague-but-annoying symptoms over the last few months, like fatigue, brain fog, feeling cold a lot, heartburn at bedtime, nose bleeds in the night, peeling fingernails, a couple of episodes of vomiting during bms, in addition to bleeding/urgency... makes it difficult to sort out which are related to uc and which potentially have a different cause...

I get itchy skin in the winter. For me, it's just dry skin, and I use lotion after I shower, which helps the itchiness.

Oh - signature is wrong. 4 Lialda a day and doing a two week burst of prednisone right now.

I was taking Canasa up until a couple weeks ago, but my rash is getting worse. It shows up when I itch or bathe and slowly fades.
