Have not had any UC symptoms since coming out of the hospital and being put on antibiotics. I am wondering if when the pred finishes it will come back but I feel different and I wonder if the antibiotics got rid of something in my system. I really hope so but maybe I am just in denial.

I also had yoghurt and fruit and no symptoms :)

Hopefully you are in remission. Don't stop taking you maintenance medicine if you have any.

antibiotics also really helped my condition. i took a 2 week course of vancomycin in february for c diff and felt pretty good for a few months- that is until i got c diff again a few days ago in the hospital.

Antibiotics put me into remission too. But since then I have had numerous close calls. There is no doubt in my mind that my IBD flares would have returned if not for my daily supplements, especially probiotics. And monitoring my diet for triggering foods.

I am very careful about maintaining remission. I am not sure if antibiotics will work for me again to end another flare.

Oh I didn't know it has put other people in remission. I am still on the pred, and olslisine, but I have included some things in my diet, but am still low carb. I use probiotics as well. I just keep hoping this is the end of my IBD but I don't always live in reality.. and I do realise that.

I wonder why they put you on Osalazine when Balsalazide is similar and cheaper drug but looks like you are in remission. Still take your meds religiously.

My mom is in long remission for >17 years without meds, but she is an absolute exception.

I was on an antibiotic called Erthromycin. It was used to treat food poisoning. They didn't want me to have it at first but I begged them for it.
