Asacol discontinued. What now?

There is a Canadian generic for Asacol, Mesalamine EC 400mg. It's supposed to be equal to Asacol. I spoke with pharmacy there and they say there patent laws are shorter than US. You can use your US per perscription on a reputable online pharmacy.

I am becoming symptomatic on Delzicol. I'm going to try the generic.

Hi there grandmom3379, I was wondering if you have the name of the reputable pharmacy that you use in Canada to get your Asacol 400mg prescription from? I am needing to re order my Asacol 400mg for the first time since they went off the market and now and trying to find a way to order and stay on the Asacol 400mg rather than having to switch to another medication at this point. I would appreciate any info on how to order from a reputable online Canadian pharmacy to make sure I'm really getting the Asacol 400 mg tablets. Thank you so much for any info.

kimber: I don't know much about Asacol in Canada but, in case you didn't know:

1. they did not discontinue Asacol HD (800mg)

2. Delzicol is a 400mg Asacol pill stuck inside of a capsule where, if you wanted to, you could remove the capsule and still have your 400mg Asacol
