OT -- Sad, kind of funny, and true

So our admin came in to tell me this morning that her boss took her out for Admin appreciation day...and left an expense report on her desk this morning for the meal. You just have to wonder sometimes! My friends and I had a good laugh -- I was thinking about expensing out the flowers I brought her...for doing all my expense reports and taking such good care of me, lol.

Yes, totally tacky. I was offended for her, but given the track record of this guy it didn't surprise any of us. Imagine him taking out $50 dollars from his bonus check to take his admin for lunch...wow!

I used to have a boss that would split his year end bonus with me because he felt I was part of his team that made him successful. I think he should teach others how to be a better manager. Sheesh.

TG I'm retired now & no longer have to deal with tacky moves made by former dept. head. At one point she actually sent a memo around to all full-timers asking us to contribute to a year-end gift for her student assistant (part-timer). I was so disgusted that I then fired off an e-mail informing her that my previous head had purchased such a gift for her student assistant HERSELF + wrote on the accompanying greeting card that it came from the whole dept. Now that was clearly a class act! Tacky supervisors can irritate no-end, definitely bad for UCers. (sigh) / Old Hat (32 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
