Do things happen to you in clusters?

It seems that when one thing happens, other issues follow. For instance, 2 weeks ago I had a UTI. I took Macrobid and it got rid of it. Now today, I developed an eye infection....oh and before the UTI, I had an infected cyst at the base of my skull on the back of my neck.

It can be noted, and health issues can usually be related to overtaxation of something. I'm not surprised you're in a health dilemma considering all you've been through in the recent past with moving.

You should have your eye looked at since you're on Restasis and have allergies, etc.

Regarding things at the same time....we got a new toaster oven (digital), a new sound bar (Panasonic)...electronic/technological stuff with all the adjustments drives me crazy. Yet it all doesn't work together (no, I don't mean the toaster oven working with the sound bar..lol). Can't even toast a piece of freaking toast without taking days of adjustments...sheesh.

Those things you can likely blame on immuno-suppression. Probably it would be helpful to look into basic precautions you could try to reduce your chances of infection-- maybe some cranberry juice, for example, to help keep the bladder pH level fighting off bacteria. I can relate to your frustration over successive ailments! While involved in dental implant process last yr I had gyno problem flare-up, which could have come from implant CATscan radiation affecting endocrine glands in head/neck. And a senior relative of mine has dental problems from antibiotics required due to past cardiac valve replacement surgery. No doubt many members here could add on further examples. Breathing tube is TOTALLY standard during general anesthesia. It's inserted well after you're under and almost always removed before you wake up. You might have a tiny bit of a sore throat but if you've ever had an upper endoscopy then you've already experienced discomfort that is far worse than a breathing tube.

As an aside... I've been posting/reading here for a while and it wasn't until reading your post that I realized that "Old Hat" and "Old Mike" are different people. I saw gyno and did a double take!

Thanks for info, Pluot & Sherry. (BTW, Old Mike & I know who we are, lol!) I DETEST attachments of any kind because (#1) I have small arm veins rather deep-down, (#2) have dermatographism, and (#3) like Sherry I tend toward allergic or otherwise strong reactions to chemicals that don't bother most people. *** Yep, Quincy, I already told the gyno that I want to know BEFOREHAND what anesthesia will be used, which provoked a grimace. Geez! (Sheesh!) Why is it such a big deal to let patients know ahead of procedure exactly what we will be subjected to? Actually, a female neurologist with Crohn's colitis who attends our local IBD support group commented to me recently that she's fed up with HER doctors for handing her Informed Consent papers to sign w/o sufficient explanation of procedure details, AND she told them so!!!!! Can't they understand that when we're starved & purged it's tiresome having more than 1 or 2 staff besides doctor pawing at us or asking for the same info that is already written on our entry registration form? I don't know if artificial tears would help in this case. I've never really had something like that before, but I can try it in the future if it happens again.

Interesting, Sherry. I had large dark bruise for 3 weeks after c-scope IV mid-arm; then a week later just a tiny pindot where gastro's PA drew blood for labs, yea! RE Alaway: my ophthalmologist recommended it last yr instead of Rx allergy eye drops. I haven't tried it yet, though, because this spring the pollen bothered my nose, throat, & eustachian tubes rather than eyes! Does it relieve your eyes in case of allergy? I can use Rx Patanol occasionally, but not steadily if eye allergy attacks because it makes my salivary glands hurt after a couple days! Yes, it is all about the system balance. Antiobiotics/medicine kill the good bacteria then the yeast grows. The balance tries to come back but your system is weakened so other things crop up. Then it starts all over again they treat the UTI and maybe another part of your system boinks out.

I have been in this boinking dillema since January it started with a virus, pneumonia, antibiotic and predinizone with no taper, ear infection, UTI antibiotic, sinus infection, another UTI, antibiotic and then FLARE AWAY.

I am trying to balance my system right now with the bland diet. Added in the probiotics and trying to stay away from any antibiotics if possible, Drink lots of water! Rest I think it is going to take a bit.
