Mud10, to me it sounds like you are making some really bad decisions that could have some very negative consequences for the course of your uc. First, you stopped seeing your GI (if you don't like a particular GI then find another GI). Second, you are reducing your medication without a GI's consent (a GI can tell you whether it is safe to do so based on your current level of active disease, inflammation, and symptoms). Some people decide on their own to quit or reduce their medication because they 'feel better' or whatever. Sure it might work fine for a little while but it will eventually catch up with you. In a lot of cases, you end up in the middle of a uc flare up which can be a pretty miserable thing that takes months, and months to combat, and will likely required stronger medication than you were on before in order to beat.
Yeah none of us like seeing GIs regularly, and taking all of this medication but there is no choice. As uc is a chronic disease that you have the rest of your life, and the meds and drs are just a necessary evil.
Also, I think a hollistic doctor is a waste of time and money.
