FYI: Yuck. Every few years this comes up,you would think they would learn.

There is also the improper rinse of chemicals on scopes,where they can cause a chemical colitis.

Oh gosh and I asked my GI last time if everything was clean and the nurse explained to me how they clean it...

OMG - Old Mike - I first read this post last night and got so freaked out about going to get scoped today...

But then today, as bad as it is for the environment OUTSIDE my colon, I was so glad to see for the benefit of the environment INSIDE my colon, that my doc uses disposable (one use only) tubes for the flex sigs in his office. What a relief, seriously.

Otherwise I was thinking same thing Tornado6 said about free FTs! Gross (and really - it takes a lot to gross us UCers out, I'd say). And scary.

A factor might also be where you live too, I've always felt confident that clean scopes have been used on me each time, never once did I get an infection after getting scoped and I've been scoped a lot over 22 years.
