Had uc for four months. Terrible bloody infected mess. Found an article from doctor. He stated uc was due to bacterial infection. His suggestion was zinc and magnesium four times regular dose. Plus folic acid. It took six weeks to turn the corner and it never came back. No steroids. Its been four years now since episode. All natural

You want l-methyltetrahydrofolate to be safe side of any possible mthfr mutations.. I don't know about
this specific protocol but the l-methyltetrahydrofolate and zinc make sense..

If it was due to something bacterial, why not antibiotics?

An infection isn't ulcerative colitis...it's a gastro infection or "colitis" if the colon is involved.
You obviously didn't have UC...but a gastro infection.
Magnesium and zinc doesn't cure an infection, nor does it cure UC.
Sounds like spammitis to me.

well, we don't know his whole story, if he was diagnosed officially with UC....if he was then
4 years of remission/cured with just that protocol and no meds. seems good to me if it worked for him.

the OP said bacterial infection and no mention of meds. NO doctor would diagnose without prescribing meds and only suggesting magnesium and zinc.

Really Cured...can you link us to the article?
The more info we have, the better.
I am intrigued...
Maybe his infection was C diff.
