Piercings & prednisolone! HELP

Hello all!
Posted not long ago about my current flare of both UC & joints. Which has resulted in having to take a course of steroids.
So basically I've been on steroids for 3 weeks now & about to go down to 20mg today.
I've been wanting to get my tragus pierced (inner external ear) for a very long time now & have organised an appointment etc. But it occurred to me that my immune system must be really low at the mo. Although I'm feeling better within myself. Is it safe to get the piercing done now? Am I at more risk of infection? I have other piercings but never had an issue however I was not on steroids at the time.
Can anyone share their thoughts or experiences?
Anyone got a piercing on steroids?
Won't be able to talk to a doctor today & my appointment is in the afternoon.

Hi Mia, I think I would wait...no harm in waiting, but you may be harmed by not waiting.

I honestly have no idea. I got my ears pierced before I even had UC.

How is your general healing ability?

I haven't had anything pierced in YEARS. Why not ask your GI or GP? It may not be a big deal.

Thanks guys/gals, I went and asked, and the lady said their not allowed to make any piercings if your on pred or antibiotics. So decisions made for me.
Better to be safe then sorry.

i had my ears pierced when i was on pred and imuran and nothing happend.

That's weird that they won't do the piercing, the risk shouldn't be too high as long as you keep the area clean.

She said the healing would take longer & there's a higher risk of infection. I'm based in the UK maybe different rules.
