Anyone in remission with Remicade right now?

I'm meeting with my GI and I have no choice but to go on Remicade and Prednisone because my symptoms are so bad. (15-17x a day, blood, mucus) And add 6mp in as soon as I get insurance within the next 2 months.

I have no insurance but filled out Remicade patient assistance hoping that I get approved.

I see that forum members like SomeDude is taking Remicade,
Are you in remission? And is taking LDN with Remicade alright?

I took Remi for five years, and it put me immediately into a remission...and eventually healed my ulcers. It worked well for me and now I'm on Pentasa maintenance meds. That's been about two or three years. Good luck!

Im not in remission with Remicade. iI did it for over a year with mediocre results. I'm off it now. I'm doing other things.

LDN didn't work for me unfortunately. I tried the transdermal and the pill version. Oh well. The point is to keep trying stuff.

Don't take what you see people post here as gospel, but keep an open mind to at least try it.

Oh yeah, and don't believe the diet addicts either. The ones with gluten free, dairy free, grain free, freedom free. They have their own agenda

So for those in remission on Remi how long did it take to get there? I have had my 3 loading doses of remicade and I am tapering Pred right now. Not in remission yet though

I took Remicade. First thing to ever get me into remission. Then I got an infection and had to go off of it.
Went back into a flare for years till I started Humira.

I've been in a Remicade remission for little over 1 1/2 years while everything else has failed me (except Humira, I haven't tried that yet).

I've heard that it can take up to six months for it to really take and settle in. I'm at month two and I just had my third loading dose a few weeks ago... After two loading doses was feeling like we were making really good strides, but I have suffered some setbacks since the third. I was also tapering Pred around the same time as the third though. So we bumped the Pred up to 50mg on top of the Remicade...

I initially thought that the steroids didn't work for me. I got substantially worse on 40mg before starting Remicade, but now that Remicade has pushed me at least into a somewhat comfortable (very loose with the word comfortable here... I can exist...), the steroids seem to be doing a little bit more for me. Always worried about the taper, but currently the lesser of two evils.

Half the reason I'm out of sorts right now also is because of my anemia, so our priority is to get that on track and see what my body can do from there.

I'm feeling the same way sometimes, pretty frustrated and impatient when it comes down to it... For how intense a drug it is, you kind of hope it'll be a miracle right off the bat...

I was on Remicade for 2 years and I was practically UC-free. It's my number 1 drug. Sadly I'm afraid I'm having anti-bodies today.

Started Remicade on April 26th this year. Have had my 3 loading doses and I'm doing very well. Still tapering off pred but it doesn't really work for me anyway so have to put success on Remi.

Was in pretty bad shape a few months ago, it was Remi or surgury... SO for me it is working.. for how long??? that's the million dollar question.....
