I know this is UC forum, still I am posting it here, hoping that someone already went through this and have some answers for me.

I suspect that my eyesight has changed suddenly in last 2 months. I have an appointment with an eye doctor very soon. I will be doing thorough checking by dilating pupils etc. Because I have migraine as well. If my eyesight has changed (which looks like it), I will need new eyeglasses. I don't plan to shell out a lot of money so plan to get it from Zenni or Warby Parker.
Zenni sells a lot of coating and I am interested in oleophobic and hydrophic coating because my eyeglasses are ALWAYS smudgy for some reason (oil from eye-brows trickles down) and I am fed up for cleaning it all the time. I wonder if anybody has experience with such coatings? Warby Parker does not sell these coatings.

I wonder if anybody has tried any other place that sells similar coating and I can get eyeglasses max. around $100? There are a ton of websites but not too sure how many are good.

(P.S. - If anybody knows any forum similar to this one foe eyeglasses, would love to know. I found few but they are not frequented by the users.)

can`t help regarding your actually question delta, but just wondering if you are flaring right now or in solid remission.

reason I ask is my eye sight got a lot worse recently (or so i thought) was moved up to progressive lenses and a significant jump in strength.... turns out my flare was affecting my sight.. my new glasses are now way to strong for me... so if you are flaring, might want to hold off on new prescription for a bit to see if things settle down.

Currently I am in remission (at least externally think so) but I was in rather LONG flare (about 6-7 months) and only during that period I started feeling it but now that I am in remission for about 2 months, I feel like it is getting worse.

I am little younger than you, so essentially same age group.

I met a saleswoman in Quarks who was talking with me about buying stuff.  We then got on to online stores, etc....and she showed me the 4 pair of prescription glasses she got from Zenni Optical.  Oh wow...they were awesome, and very affordable.  If you're easy to fit...go for it. 

It's been checked out by magazine and marketplace types of programs....specialists couldn't tell the difference.

My husband and I already got one $$(ka-ching)$$  pair each from our optometrist, and they are perfect....but for other needs to have another pair...we're planning to order from there soon.

of course...just a suggestion.

I am looking at Zenni and Warby Parker but I am more interested in the coatings they offer. My current glasses are some really high end (~ 5 years ago) but they are not olephobic or hydrophobic and I want both. So I would go to anyone that offers these coatings at reasonable price..
