I will be going on holiday in July to America (first holiday in 12 years!) and have been looking at flight travel insurance to cover my pre-existing health condition (UC). Unfortunately it's currently going to cost £568 which is absurdly expensive, considering I'm only going for 3 weeks. The flights themselves only cost £700 so I was wondering if anyone knew how to get cheaper flight insurance anywhere?
If not, thank you anyway.

www.insuremytrip.com
I've seen this site recommend before for all different types of travel insurance. No promises that this will work, insurance companies are shady.... Read the fine print.

As far as I know travel insurance doesn't cover pre-existing. They cover you for accidents etc. In any case take your meds with you and to be super cautios some pred just in case. That's how I did it when I spent my vacation in America. You shouldn't have to see a doctor in those few weeks.

Do you have home insurance or any of that sort? Usually, there is an option of your health coverage for certain number of days every trip. When I was living in the Sweden, I had 45 days coverage for every trip.
Plus, don't you have EU health insurance card? In case of Emergency that will take care of the things (And I certainly think that it is lot better than any private insurance).
As and when I used to travel, I would carry both and I always had a faith that EU health insurance card would help me more than private one. Ask your local authority.
Never buy health insurance through travel agents, they are never useful when you really need it.
