Well have now got my girls four of them had them nearly four weeks and and am getting at least 2 eggs per day at moment
Had to put a big 6 ft fence around them as the dog was on a mission to get the chickens, but have stopped that game now
Must say they are very funny and know that when I go down in afternoon they have a treat as they see me and all run over to the door of there run they are very greedy and seem to be always eating
Just love them they are very friendly and kids have them sitting on there laps
So now have a dog, cat, rabbit and chickens friends say its like a little farm of very pampered animals :0)

That's cute. Sounds like fun. Sometimes I wish I didn't live in the city so I could have chickens and a goat/sheep.

Lambkins, I'm so glad you updated us! I've been thinking about
you & the hens, hoping that you recovered from the kidney infection, etc. You sound great-- keep it up, eh? My best friend lives in the country & reports that a stray mother cat is raising 4 kittens in their garage; at 1st she & hubby thought someone had dumped the kittens while they were away on vacation. It turned out that the mother cat left them there but returns intermittently to visit them! / Old Hat (32 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)

Oh I'd love to have a couple chickens. Afraid to have 4 and get too many eggs lol, but I've read they're happier in groups of 4 so they don't pick on the low-ranking one.
How do you handle going on vacation? That's my biggest hurdle. Now we're retired we take 4 weeks in August--headed out in 7 days time. No way could I ask neighbors to feed and care for chickens.

Just wondering how the egg production is going ... also, did you get the MRI results? / Old Hat (32 yrs with left-sided UC; presently in remission taking brandname Colazal)
