remicade anyone?

How long did remicade work for you? Are you happy with your decision to go on it? Any side effects from it? I will be starting this medication soon and would like to know your opinion on this drug. Thanks :)

I had my first normal bm on day 2 after my first infusion.

Side effects: Stiff knees, shingles.

Yes I was happy with my decision.

I'm extremely happy with my decision. I finally managed to get into a stable remission after "simmering" for YEARS. I've been on it for almost 2 years and so far it's still working. I rarely get side effects now but in the beginning it gave me headaches, muscle cramps and nausea, but only on the day of the infusion. I premedicate with Solumedrol and Benedryl because my hands swelled up into painful claws after my 3rd infusion. Since pre medicating, that no longer happens.

Discharged from hospital day after my first infusion, and went from 30+ bloody trips to the bathroom daily to almost normal in about 48 hours. It has worked, aside from some minor hiccups, for 2.5 years and I still get it today. Have never had any side effect.
