Travelling with UC during flare

True, but I did ask doctors and nurses if it was safe for me to still go and they agreed it was. They only said they would warn against it if my colitis were very severe at the time - which it wasn't. Also, Finland is a very safe and clean country known to have very clean water too and is probably a lot safer to go to when flaring than say, Bulgaria. Thanks for the warning though.

I traveled from western Canada to Norway/Sweden/Finland during a flare-up and almost missed a connecting flight. Loperamide/Imodium helped a lot!

I'm flaring right now and am going to Vietnam in a few weeks. In a similar boat as you right now!

I'm glad it helped! I don't know why the loperamide made me worse! It did say on it don't use with colitis though, so maybe the idea of getting ill made me worse. I think my doctor said it could've been a coincidence. Does the loperamide just constipate you?

Good luck and have fun in Vietnam! Remember to avoid salads, raw fruit with no ''seal/shell'' (bananas/melon) n don't drink the water. Vietnam won't be as clean as Scandinavia, but I'm sure it'll be just as enjoyable!
