I think it would be really nice for us to have a picture of ourselves in our signature. It would help be able to put a face with a name when using this forum as support. I think that would be a great suggestion for this board. :)

Not many people would be willing to do this because they want to remain anonymous.

However, we did share our pics at one time many years ago. Of course the forum was much smaller then.

If you want to share pics, I would recommend using a free site such as Photobucket, but keep in mind that this is a public forum and anyone can see you...members and non-members alike.

Yeah, i agree! Not everyone would have to post a real pic. Could be of a pet or something else. I know my mom has hundreds of facebook pictures but zero of her actual face! So it is possible to still be mysterious even on facebook haha

So definitely as an option would be great!

I think anonymity allows people to ask and say things that they would otherwise be reluctant to mention.

Making it mandatory would clearly be a mistake, but giving users the option wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

I have a pic of hubby and me posted at crohn's forum (aka crohn's disease forum) pretty much everyone there has some kind of pic posted whether it's of themselves or their pets and stuff. I think I post a pic here years ago as well when it was a bit smaller here.

I remember the picture sharing years ago! There was a moderator at the time named Dansky, and everyone was dying to know what he looked like. After a great deal of persuasion he eventually posted a picture of himself in uniform but you couldn't really see his face so we were none the wiser!

If I remember rightly both Quincy and Red_34 are very good looking ladies :-)

I married my dream guy ;) But he's bald (he shaves his head), has a goatee, blue eyes and a tattoo lol

A couple of people on here know what I look like because we're friends on FB.

I picture Somedude as being something like Kelso on "That 70s Show" but not quite as goofy. Not Ashton Kutcher, though.

And yeah, I know I'm likely not making any sense.

There was a Crohns blog I was looking at the other day and many of the users had posted pics of themselves in their avatar. It was kind of nice. Is their a FB UC page?

HW has a FB page, it's not specific to UC but instead to ALL HW members.

Never known a site where people are so reluctant to post pics of themselves, it's weird. All other forums I've been a member of, the vast majority have posted pics of themselves.

No one is going to track you down without a full name and address; what is the worry?

The Crohn's blog is ancient, not exactly widely known about, and I don't think a new photo has been uploaded there for years.

Personally I want to see what Somedude looks like as well. Doubt anyone cares less what I look like, but I did post a photo of me on the Ostomy board a while ago.

Trust me, you dont need to see my pic, I'm not special and I don't look like a supermodel. Furthermore, I don't look that great these days because of the weight loss. One day, I'll post it when I feel good and everything is back to normal... Until that day...

Second, the reason my username on here is Somedude is because I don't want to associate my gamer names to this ghey disease. I want to keep this disease separate from my other fields of interests if you will. lol
