Tacrolimus(Prograf!)?

So, end of Remicade. Gold while it lasted, though the frequent infections were a challenge. Had em all...
Limited options. Now on 8 mg(also 8 pills) of Tacrolimus with Bactrim with weekly blood work. No other infections, Remi just stopped. No antibodies either. Side effect of this bad boy are hurting her...dizzy, nausea,heat flashes,appetite diminished. Doc seems to be holding on till a new drug with a different delivery system is released...if FDA fast tracked, will be released as early as Feb. latest, August.He is not even trying Humera or other biologics.Guess when it fails this particular way, the others are a long shot. Full flare and an airplane flight back to college tomorrow. Yikes.
Anyway, this is thankfully beyond most of us...but any severe folks have relief from this unusual drug? Any input? She just had a scope and inflammation isn't as bad as it was years ago, still left sided. Doing Cortifoam too!
Food...hard to know now that nothing hurts more or helps specifically.

I'm familiar with the drug because a friend has used it for severe psoriasis... I've read about it being used for UC but never heard of any specific cases. Hope all goes well.

Yes, the awaited drug is Vedolizumab. We are in Chicago at the U of C, home of many drug trials.My daughter was in the trial that got Remi approved for pediatric use a few years ago.
Seems the new Tacrolimus is working as a bridge drug...down to 3-5 BM's and side effects lessening. Fingers crossed.
