Ah, I see what you mean. I think I can clear that up for you. First, regular licorice can be very dangerous to take, especially at higher doses because it can mess with your potassium levels and blood pressure, which oral steroids also mess with, so I can see where that could be a bad combination. DGL has that aspect of the licorice taken out so you don't have to worry about that. That's why they make DGL. On top of that cortifoam is not an oral steroid and is fairly nonsystemic. It would probably be a good idea to not take regular licorice with Cortifoam and a bad idea to take it with oral steroids. DGL shouldn't give you a problem.

Not sure why you are taking DGL. I took it at one time because I believed that my UC was being caused by the Epstein Barr Virus and there was some information that licorice could maybe help eliminate the EBV. I tried to pin that down on regular licorice versus DGL but the information was so murky in that area. The DGL didn't really help me at all in that regard and I believe the most important ingredient in licorice that fights the EBV was taken out in the DGL which is why it didn't do what I had been hoping. The regular licorice is just too risky to take, even if there aren't steroids involved. On top of that I switched my belief to my UC being caused by broad spectrum antibiotics and not the EBV after all.
