I'm currently on Imuran and when I used the restroom I wiped mucus off. I was a little late with my med intake today but I'm scared it can develop into something more. I just ordered enemas. I hope I can stop this before it spreads. Right now it seems to be only in the very end of the rectum but from my experience this is where every flare starts. I'm thankful that I have gotten this far and I don't want to lose my remission.

not sure if you have ibs, but i often find i have some clear mucus when i wipe in the morning. its only a tiny bit. but then i have ibs.

I think I do because I am super sensitive to foods still.

Well I was able to wipe dry this morning (night) so I hope it was nothing serious. It really sucks about this disease because you're always on the watch :-)

I also took my Imuran a little later because I slept in longer yesterday. I normally notice it when I take it too late. I know GIs say that shouldn't happen because it's still in your body and so on but for me it always has been different.

Lets hope it was just a blip.

@MaxMilian, what were you diagnosed with? CD or UC? Did your doctor confirm?
For me the biopsy(when I flared on May'13) said there was a mild inflammation in the cecum and moderate inflammation in the sigmoid(15cm i.e 15cm - 30cm), rectum was OK. The rectum was OK, may be because I was using steroid foam. Descending, Transverse, Ascending were OK and the terminal Ileum OK as well.
I noticed yesterday and went in detail into the biopsy results. The funny thing is the biopsy result is in Dutch language as I stay in Netherlands and I had to translate by using google translate to understand.
Funny to type all the biopsy result in the google translate and lil bit irritated as well :-)

Currently I'm also having mucus discharge :-(

sarav84: I was originally diagnosed with UC. Last year my diagnosis was indetermined because they found ulcers on my ileum (possibly CD?). Since my fecal transplants, all my ulcers and inflammation have cleared. Not sure what I have now, except for IBS.

I know it can happen very very rarely that the illeum can be inflamed with UC.

Which means the theory of describing UC as a continuous inflammation along the colon is wrong?

ileum would be involved in backwash ileitis. There is a form where the cecum and rectum are involved, however...but that could be that they might eventually hook up....or....misdiagnosis eventually to be CD.

I don't know if Max's has been clarified as UC or possible CD (if my memory serves me correctly).

Andrina....could you possibly have hemmies as well? They, too, can cause more mucus.

Are you in your period?....again, another friendly foe to add torment to our colon/UC activity.

I don't think I have hemmies. I also just finished my period thankfully.
