Just got a call from my GI's nurse

I went in for my follow up a few weeks ago and they had me give blood and a urine sample. My GI's just called me and it looks like the blood is back in my urine. I had this issue a few years ago, seen a urologist and had a cystoscope which showed nothing wrong with my bladder. If it's not one thing, it's another. mad

This could also be a sign of low platelets although that should have shown up with the blood test.

Do you notice blood in your urine?

Are you feeling like you've been having discomfort/spasming in your bladder?

I am also currently having the same issue and don't know what to make of it either. I however have not had a cystoscope.

An ultrasound would show if there is any thickening of the bladder wall....

Uggh Sherry. It's like you want a vacation from your body. I am currently dealing w/ Gastritis and said the same thing. If it's not one thing it's another. Soooo true. Hope it all works out for you!

I've had blood in my urine in trace amounts since I was a child. Nothing was ever found to be wrong.

I just worry about the microhematuria because my first bout of it occurred shortly after doing the Osmoprep for a cscope. Osmoprep has been to proven to damage the kidneys. I'm also highly prone to UTI's and kidney infections. I don't have a UTI but I just wonder if my kidneys are getting a beating from all the infections and possibly the Osmoprep.

My GI's office never called me back yesterday so I'm going to call them today. The nurse was supposed to ask the doc what should be done. I think I might make an appt with a nephrologist if the blood in my urine continues even if nothing shows up, it will be for peace of mind.
