I was doing really well which hardly to no blood, bm's down to 3/day. The past week or so my bleeding has increased, while my frequency has gone down to 2/day and if it weren't for the bleeding I would think everything is going along pretty well. Has anyone had this happen? I'm wondering if I am eating something that somehow decreases my blood clotting ability or something? The only dietary change I can think of is I've been eating lots of coconut milk (I'm on scd diet right now). Anyone else experience this? It's just weird because other than the bright red blood, I've been doing really well!

Are you eating a lot of almond meal, shredded coconut or anything with insoluble fiber? I ask because I was on SCD for years and couldn't get into remission because some of the legal foods were dislike my my gut.
Suggest removing as much insoluble fiber from your diet as possible and using mesalamine enema nightly until bleeding stops.
The combination of removing fiber and using enemas always stops my bleeding in 2 days.
Less frequency
could
mean constipation because the fiber is slowing your colon down. That is good for someone with a healthy colon, not so good if your colon is inflamed/irritated.

Actually last time I had some bleeding I discovered it WAS from the almond meal. I'm now on a nut/dairy-free version of SCD. But when the almond meal was giving me issues it increased frequency, cramping, urgency, and I felt awful. Constipation crossed my mind but I still have very soft stools. Have a bit of form but break apart easily when I flush. I also considered some sort of hemorrhoid or maybe I have been eating something that has physically been irritating an ulcer, but not actually increasing inflammation, does that make sense? It's just a mystery because it's only the one symptom worsening... I tried suppositories but it seems to make the bleeding worse actually. I am on Mezavant pills too.

Hmmm, just remembered I've been eating a fair bit of celery, maybe that did it..

Celery makes fiber balls that can create blockages or just be hard to digest

My doctor took me off them because I'd been on them so long and they didn't work. I have a supply still for flare ups buts they don't help me.
