Hi,
So three years ago I was diagnosed with non-specific Proctitis. Salofalk 40mg was keeping all symptoms at bay until about a year ago, when I was moved onto Prednisolone foam 20mg to treat flare ups and keep symptoms controlled and in remission.
Fast forward to right now, I have had the most awful flare... pain, vomiting, chronic diarrhoea, heavy bleeding. It hospitalised me for the first time and my CRP levels were at 72.
I have since been discharged and put on a course of oral Pred 45mg , which is working fine. I have not, however, been able to completely stop the bleeding. It ceases during the day whilst I'm on the Pred and it's working my system, but when I wake up in the morning I am greeted by a mildly bloody bowel movement, no real consistency and so the cycle continues. Med up, feel pretty good throughout the course of the day... then it gets to around 9-10pm and I start to feel a little gross again.
Anything I can do to help push it over the edge? I am also taking;
Azacol 250mg Suppositories x 3 a day
Prednisolone Foam x 1 at night (Doesn't seem to be doing much right now which is disappointing)
Octasa 400mg oral Mesalazine x 12 a day.
I feel a lot, LOT better, but I'm just worried about forcing myself over the line and getting into remission again, I've been on Pred oral for about 4 days now.
Thanks guys.
