Hi-
It's been a while since I've contributed to the Forum but have some news. 2 weeks ago I had a colonoscopy. Because of a previous incidence of dysplasia, my GI took about
40 tissue samples for biopsy including a flat polyp in the rectum. As a result I experienced considerable bleeding for nearly a week.
The pathology report found no cancer but revealed that the polyp has the potential to become cancerous so my GI is planning to remove it in about
6 months.
I've been researching the process as described by my doc and found the following:
http://www.mayoclinic.org/medicalprofs/large-colorectal-polyps.html
It appears to be a great improvement over the past where more drastic colon surgery was prescribed.
Also found a site where an individual describes his experience of the process:
http://www.sease.com/polyp/emr.html
I know polyps have been the topic of past posts but thought this might shed some new light.
I'm not thrilled about
this "finding" but it sure beats cancer.
Has anyone else had this experience?
