Entocort is formulated to be topical and supposedly causes fewer side effects. However, it isn't necessarily free of bad effects. I was on it for an extended period and was left with type II diabetes and avascular necrosis in my right shoulder.
Just be aware and watch for signs of side effects if you do decide to try the Entocort.
Entocort did some nasty things to me as well, so you aren't alone. The optimal dose is 9 mg, but that's equivalent to roughly 40 mg of prednisone.
I don't think these so-called non-systemic drugs are actually non-systemic. The dosages should be based on weight, but instead they do 9 mg as the standard, even if someone is 80 pounds. That's basically asking for trouble.
therearemiracles, if you decide to take entocort, start out with 3 mg and see how your body reacts. Do NOT take the standard dosage as prescribed. If your body goes on overdrive and your heart rate increases, then you know it's an issue. Steroids in any shape or form have the possibility of causing metabolic and adrenal damage.
